Feathers Fair

Short and long
preened
Warm and pretty

She has a radiant glow a call gathering up seed
Nutrients consumed
Food from grain

Predator and Prey
Swooping to the ground
feathers strewn all around
Nutrients consumed

The cycle of life
Just the scattered feathers remain of the turtle dove
The Hawk flies up to perch
Cleaning talons and then away
To live for another day

Take away from me

Take away from me

Take away from me my money my love
Take away from me my dog, our happy home
Take away from me my desire to hunt and race
Take away from me your honest grace

Take away from me my children
Take away from me my father and grandmother

Take away from me the truth that I care most about

Take away from me the church, communion, and fellowship

Take away from me that I might feel love once again

Take away from me

Nothing in return

She never knew

She never knew
She never knew the love we could share
She never knew the truth

His stare and One drawn near
Her glare, repelled advances
They never knew

Life's gentle touch and warm embrace
Tender kisses, Loves juices flowing deep inside
With desire as such both beauty and grace

Twisted limbs into the night
The taste of love and delight
Waking in the morning light

She never knew
The key to love
Unlocking the closed door

To let him in
She never knew
Her love

Frozen cold
Melted in the light of the sun
Drawn back into the dark of the Earth

She never knew
The taste of living waters
They never truly knew each other
